SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic, September 2,
2021 – Teams of Puerto Rico, United States,
Mexico, Canada, Suriname and host Dominican
Republic will compete in the Men’s Pan American
Cup starting on Friday at Ricardo Arias
Volleyball Palace in Santo Domingo.
The teams are scheduled to go through the
preliminary inspection performed by the members
of the Control Committee on Thursday morning at
NORCECA’s meeting room in Santo Domingo.
The inspection process consists basically of the
approval of players’ eligibility and the check
of the different sets of teams’ uniforms to be
used during the competition. Teams’ managers and
coaches as well as medical doctor or
physiotherapists will receive information about
training and playing schedules, transportation
and other topics related to the competition.
The event is slated to begin on Friday and
consists of a preliminary round robin to define
the seeding of the teams for the semifinals.
Teams ranked fifth and sixth will meet before
the semifinals for the decision of the last two
places. The teams seeded from first to fourth
will play in the semifinals on September 8 with
1st seeded against 4th seeded and 3rd against
2nd. The winners will play for the gold medal
and the losers for the bronze on September 9.
