TIJUANA, Mexico, August 26 2015 - The Mexican U21 National unit
was officially introduced at the First Media Day at the Baja
California High Performance Centre prior to the Age Group World
Championship.
Event details such as opening dates and competition preparation
scheduled from September 11 through 20 were presented to the
attendants.
The Baja California Sports and Physical Culture Institute
Director, Saul Castro Verdugo, addressed the local and national
media. Competition schedule, host cities, Pools information as
well as control committee members and international referees
assigned to the competitions were part of the main points during
the conference.
The Mexican players also received their official uniforms given
by the local organising committee in a special meeting just a
few minutes before the beginning of the Media Day.
Among the Baja California Sports Institute Authorities that were
part of the ceremony the Sport Talent Development Director,
Francisco Javier Medina, as well as Promotion Director, Jorge
Almada, and Physical Culture Director, Carlos King Ristori, were
also present.
Meanwhile, Baja California Volleyball Association President and
FIVB Control Committee Member, Alberto Arreola gave a warmth
welcome to the media members who visited the High Performance
Centre.
Mexico is coached by Eduardo Murguia and will begin a training
camp before the world championship along with other national
teams such as Egypt, Canada and China.
The Canadians are expected to arrive in Tijuana on August 29
while China and Egypt will do it on early September.
Among the players who have already reported for training camp in
Baja California are Jaime Estrella (Chihuahua), Joshua Martinez
de la Rosa (Nuevo Leon), Francisco Olvera (Baja California),
Yustin Frías (Nuevo Leon) and Mario Hernández (Baja California).
Also Carlos Serrano (Jalisco), Miguel Chávez Pasos (Sonora),
Enrique Noriega (Sinaloa), Christian Aranda (Baja California),
Bruno Cruz (Baja California) and Enrique Ugalde (Baja
California) reported to camp.
Some other players who are expected to join the concentration
are Alan Gabriel Martínez (Chihuahua), Alexis Muñoz Arreola
(Chihuahua), Sebastian Castro (Baja California), Luis Bojorquez
(Sinaloa), Ridl Alexis Garay (Jalisco) y Luis Rubio Camargo
(Sinaloa).
At this time most of them are with the National U23 team at the
Age Group World Championships. Mexico is part of Pool A along
with Turkey, Canada and Egypt. This Pool will play the first
phase of the tournament in Tijuana, as well as Russia,
Argentina, The United States of America and Poland, that are
part of Pool B.
Pools C and D will play in Mexicali. Brazil, Iran, China and
Cuba are part of the first one, while Italy, France, Japan and
Slovenia are part of Pool D. |
