Mexicans Lares and Ayala Capture Fourth

Gold Medal of 2026 NORCECA Tour 

JUAN DOLIO, Dominican Republic, June 21, 2026. – Mexico’s Inés Antonio Lares and Carlos Andrés Ayala continued their dominance on the 2026 NORCECA Beach Volleyball Tour, claiming their fourth gold medal of the season with a hard-fought 2-1 (21-18, 17-21, 15-9) victory over Americans Lev Priima and Diego Pérez in the men’s final of the sixth tour stop at Juan Dolio Beach. 

The triumph marked the fifth podium finish of the year for Lares and Carlos Andrés, who have now collected four gold medals—in Güibia, Mexico, San Salvador, and Juan Dolio—along with a silver medal in Costa Rica. 

To reach the final, the Mexican pair defeated Cuba’s Eblis Veranes and Damián Gómez 2-0 (21-18, 23-21) in the semifinals. Priima and Pérez advanced after overcoming Canada’s Rouzbeh Rahvanard and Robert Kemp 2-0 (21-15, 21-18). 

Cuba secured the bronze medal as Veranes and Gómez defeated Rahvanard and Kemp in straight sets, 2-0 (25-23, 21-18). The bronze represents Cuba’s third medal of the season, following silver-medal performances in Güibia and Mexico. 

Puerto Rico’s William and Daniel Rivera finished fifth after defeating the Dominican Republic’s Hayerling De Jesús and Oscar Martínez 2-0 (21-19, 21-13). 

Another Dominican duo, Alexander Wilmore and Ramón De Jesús, claimed seventh place with a 2-1 (21-10, 17-21, 15-8) victory over Zendai Richards and Julián Bristol of St. Kitts and Nevis. Costa Rica’s Julián Araya and Yulius Brown placed ninth by defeating Guatemala’s Edgar Maldonado and José Izaguirre 2-0 (21-13, 21-14). 

Hondurans Irving Reyes and Jairo Gálvez finished eleventh after a 2-0 (21-17, 21-13) win over Barbados’ Joshua Ashby and Cael Greenidge. Trinidad and Tobago’s Daynte Stewart and Daniel Williams secured thirteenth place with a 2-0 (21-13, 21-12) victory against Cayman Islands’ Jesario Ebanks and Dylan Lynee. 

Bermuda’s Kyle Hamilton and Sean Tucker concluded the tournament in fifteenth place after defeating the U.S. Virgin Islands’ Jared Brown and Cole Sommer 2-0 (21-11, 21-19).
