MEXICO CITY, Mexico, February 4, 2017 – Mexico is celebrating a centenary of volleyball with a number of festivities and events.

One of the most significant is the publication of a book, “100 Years of Volleyball in Mexico,” which was unveiled by Mexican Volleyball Federation President Jesus Perales Navarro on January 31 and is expected to be published in March.

The book records the achievements of volleyball in Mexico and contains various anecdotes from ex-players, as well as photographs of matches they played in.

The book will show the development of volleyball in Mexico and how various techniques have evolved.

A number of ex-players who competed in the 1960s, 70s and 80s attended the unveiling of the book.

The event also highlighted Mexico’s involvement in various competitions this year, including the FIVB U20 World Championship in Veracruz, the U19 Pan American Cup, the NORCECA Beach Volleyball Tour and the 2017 FIVB World Grand Prix.
