DURANGO, Mexico, September 29, 2021 - Mexico
captured thirteenth place at the FIVB U-18
Women's Volleyball World Championship after
beating Peru in straight sets 3-0 (25-18, 25-26,
25-14) on Wednesday.
Aimé Tópete carried most of the load in Mexico's
offense with 17 points, followed by María Ximena
Cruz and Carla Loreina Esquer with 9 and 7
points, respectively.
Alondra Alarcon and Saskya Silvano were the most
outstanding for Peru with 11 and 9 points,
respectively.
The Peruvian squad committed 27 unforced errors
against 16 by the Mexican team. The winners took
a 5-2 advantage in service aces and both sides
scored 4 blocks. |
