Advance to Semifinals in San Juan del Sur

SAN JUAN DEL SUR, Nicaragua, May 16, 2026.- The men’s semifinals of the third stop of the NORCECA Beach Volleyball Tour have been set, with Mexico, Nicaragua, El Salvador and Costa Rica reaching the final stage of the tournament.

Mexico’s duo Miguel Sarabia/Jorman Osuna will look to extend their country’s dominance on the circuit when they face the host team Rubén Mora/Dany López. Mexico arrives with confidence following the title won by another national pair at the previous stop in the Dominican Republic, and now Sarabia/Osuna aim to maintain that level.

In the quarterfinals, the Mexicans defeated Dominicans Oscar Martínez/Hayerling de Jesús 2-0 (21-11, 21-18), showcasing Osuna’s blocking and reach along with Sarabia’s solid defense. Meanwhile, Nicaragua’s Mora/López advanced after beating Canadians Henry Heider/Brendan Lyons 2-0 (21-14, 21-14).

The other semifinal will feature El Salvador’s Christopher and Yoel Guardado against Costa Rica’s Julián Araya/Stanley Grant in an exciting Central American clash. The Guardado twins played one of the most competitive matches of the quarterfinals, defeating USA’s Riley Owen/Austin Matautia in three sets 2-1 (15-21, 21-18, 16-14). Araya/Grant, on the other hand, overcame Nicaragua’s Jefferson Cascante/Denis López 2-0 (21-18, 21-9).

The semifinals will take place on Sunday starting at 9:30 a.m., beginning with Sarabia/Osuna vs. Mora/López, followed by Guardado/Guardado vs. Araya/Grant.
