Mexico, USA, Puerto Rico and Dominican Republic
Advance to Semifinals in Roatán
ROATÁN, Honduras, July 11, 2026. – The teams from Mexico, the
United States, Puerto Rico, and the Dominican Republic secured
their spots in the women's semifinals of the Seventh Stop of the
NORCECA Beach Volleyball Tour, taking place at Tabyana Beach in
Roatán.
Americans Sarah Wood and Taylor Hagenah starred in one of the
most exciting matches of the day, defeating Costa Rica's María
Araya and Eugenia Ramírez 25-23, 21-18. They will face Mexico's
Susana Torres and Abril Flores in the semifinals after the
Mexicans overcame Guatemala's Paola Alvarado and Daphne Mendoza
23-21, 21-16.
In the other semifinal bracket, Puerto Rico's María González and
Allanis Navas cruised past Nicaragua's Socorro López and Lolette
Rodríguez 21-6, 21-11 to book their place among the tournament's
final four.
Awaiting them will be the Dominican Republic duo of Crismil
Paniagua and Julibeth Payano, who had to battle hard to defeat
Canada's Emma Cudmore and Dana Roskic 21-17, 25-23 in the
closest quarterfinal match of the day.
The women's semifinals will begin on Sunday at 9:15 a.m. on
Courts 1 and 2, featuring Mexico vs. United States and Puerto
Rico vs. Dominican Republic.
