of the Second Stage of the NORCECA Beach Tour
SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic, May 18, 2025.- The Mexican duo of
Miguel Sarabia and Jorman Osuna claimed top honors in the second
stop of the 2025 NORCECA Beach Tour after outlasting Americans
Timothy Brewster and Ryan Ierna in a hard-fought three-set battle,
2-1 (21-19, 18-21, 15-12).
The bronze medal went to fellow Mexicans Antonio Lares and Carlos
Ayala, who came from behind to defeat Nicaragua’s Rubén Mora and
Dany López 2-1 (16-21, 21-15, 15-13).
Fifth place was secured by Americans Lev Priima and Brian Miller,
who beat U.S. Virgin Islands’ Garrett Bucklin and Devin Van Siclen
2-0 (25-23, 21-14).
Canada’s Dylan Devecseri and Rouzbeh Rahnavard took seventh place
after a 2-1 (21-12, 18-21, 15-11) win over Costa Rica’s Julián Araya
and Jhostin Varela. In ninth place were Puerto Ricans Richard Timm
and Diego Rosich, who topped Dominican duo Hayerlin De Jesús and
Rolvin Maldonado 2-0 (21-15, 21-17).
Guatemala’s Luis García and Edgar Maldonado finished in 11th place
due to a withdrawal by the team from Trinidad and Tobago. Canada’s
Cameron Chadwick and Robert Kemp claimed 13th place by defeating
Dominicans R. De Jesús and Alexander Wilmore 2-0 (21-12, 21-15).
El Salvador’s Gabriel Vargas and Carlos Mejía earned 15th place with
a 2-0 (21-13, 21-12) win over Saint Kitts and Nevis’ Julián Bristol
and Jedediah Pencheon. Venezuela’s Harrison Riveros and Luis Méndez
took 17th place by defeating Cayman Islands’ Stephen Watson and
Ricardas Kazinec 2-0 (21-13, 21-19), while Guy Lieveld and Jamal
Atman of Suriname finished in 19th place. |
