Milagros Cabral elected to Dominican Hall of Fame
SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic, September 28, 2017 – Milagros
Cabral, former captain of the women national volleyball team,
has been elected to the Dominican Republic’s Sport Hall of Fame.
She will be inducted as part of the annual ceremony of the hall
on October 15 along with nine other athletes and sport
personalities.
Cabral, who retired after the London Olympic Games, was part of
the Dominican teams that won three consecutive gold medals at
the Central American and Caribbean Games in 2002, 2006 and 2010
and also won the gold medal at the 2003 Pan American Games.
The high-leaping Cabral was also member of the Dominican team
that won the titles at the Pan American Cups in 2008 and 2010.
In her professional career, she played in Japan, South Corea,
Russia, Spain, Italy and Puerto Rico.
The list of new inductees include former Major League Baseball
players Luis Castillo an infielder for the Florida Marlins that
won the World Series in 1997 and the late pitcher Jose Lima. |
