Mohammed Receives Recognition from Bonaire Federation

BONAIRE, Bonaire, November 3, 2024.- Mushtaque Mohammed, President of the Caribbean Zonal Volleyball Association (CAZOVA) and Executive Vice President of NORCECA, received a recognition from the Bonaire National Volleyball Federation following the conclusion of the seventh stage of the 2024 NORCECA Beach Volleyball Tour, held from November 1-3 on the beautiful island of Bonaire.

Gisette Emer, Vice President of CAZOVA and President of the Bonaire National Volleyball Federation, presented Mohammed with the distinction alongside medal-winning athletes at the end of the awards ceremony.

In her remarks to Mohammed, Gisette Emer praised his role as a key ally for the Bonaire Federation and his ongoing commitment to strengthening the sport in the region. “Mushtaque’s collaboration has a positive impact that has strengthened the volleyball community in Bonaire,” she said.

Two consecutive high-level competitive events were held on the island: the first CAZOVA Senior Beach Volleyball Championship on October 30, followed by the prestigious NORCECA Continental Tour with its seventh stage from November 1-3.

Both events were hosted at the Rudy Boezen complex in Bonaire, a beautiful facility with two sand courts and two warm-up courts built according to international standards.

Emer added that Mushtaque Mohammed’s role in facilitating the resources to develop volleyball and beach volleyball, not only in Bonaire but across CAZOVA member countries as well as the NORCECA Confederation, has been instrumental in positioning the region at a competitive level.

“Both events have been of high relevance, positioning Bonaire as a key destination for beach volleyball in the NORCECA region,” emphasized Gisette Emer. “Mushtaque Mohammed is a fundamental ally for the Bonaire Federation and his continuous effort to strengthen the sport in the region”.

For his part, Mohammed expressed his appreciation, stating, “The tireless dedication and effort that Gisette puts forth as head of the Bonaire Federation have allowed these events to be such a success”.

He also remarked that Bonaire is a foremost example of sporting growth in the region and underscored the importance of continuing this collaboration for future events. “Gisette has been involved in Bonaire volleyball for seven years, driving the sport’s growth and strengthening its presence in the region,” he said.

The collaboration between both parties serves as a model of how dedication and joint efforts can elevate the quality and reach of volleyball in the Caribbean.
