Mushtaque Mohammed returns as CAZOVA President
MONTEGO BAY, Jamaica, November 10, 2019 - The Congress of
the Caribbean Zonal Volleyball Organization (CAZOVA) was
held at the Sunscape Resort in Montego Bay, Jamaica over the
weekend (9-10 November).
The Congress which was an elective congress decided on the
new board to serve CAZOVA until 2023. The incumbent
President, Mushtaque Mohammed of Trinidad and Tobago faced a
challenge from Ms. Lucille Hubson (1st Vice President of
CAZOVA), President of the United States Virgin Islands
Federation.
The second day of the congress started with the Election
with 13 of the 14 members present. Mohammed received eight
(8) votes to four (4) for Ms. Lucille Hubson with one
abstention. The other board positions were not contested
since they were unopposed.
CAZOVA is celebrating its 25th anniversary and had a very
productive congress.
The NORCECA President Cristobal Marte Hoffiz was present to
witness the activities and also presided over the Election
Process.
The portfolio assigned by the president and approved by the
congress were as follows:

In addition, Daymian K E Stewart of TTO was proposed by the
president as executive Director which is not an elected
position.
The CAZOVA President together with the 1st Vice President
Kennedy Mc Gowan and Secretary General, Mrs. Jacqueline
Cowan become board members at the next NORCECA Congress to
be held in June 2020 in Punta Cana, Dominica Republic.
