Mychael Vernon Most Valuable Female Player
of 18th CAZOVA Championship
PARAMARIBO, Suriname, July 30, 2023.- Jamaican
outside hitter Mychael Vernon was selected as the Most Valuable Player
(MVP) of the XVIII edition of the CAZOVA Caribbean Senior Championship
that concluded on Sunday at the Anthony Nesty Sport Hall in Paramaribo,
Suriname.
The MVP award was handed to Vernon after her team
won the Championship match to defending champion Trinidad and Tobago 3-2
(25-21, 15-25, 23-25, 25-19, 15-13) and she had an average 19.5 points
during the tournament.
Vernon was also the Best Receiver and Outside
hitter of the tournament. Her teammates Keshan Livingston was handed the
award for Best Setter, Sashalee Thomas received Best Opposite Player and
Anesia Edwards for 2nd Best Middle Blocker.
Best Server was handed to Jannelle Curtis of
Bahamas. Ketura Margaret of Suriname received the award for 2nd
Best Outside hitter, and Tennelle Chapman-Goodluck was handed the award
for 1st Best Middle Blocker. Three players of runner-up
Trinidad and Tobago also received awards. The recognitions Cheyenne Chin
Choy as Best Digger and Best Libero, Krystle Esdelle as Best Scorer. |
