Inter Municipal Tournament serves off in Santiago

SANTIAGO, Dominican Republic, October 4, 2018 – The Santiago Volleyball Association announced the inauguration of the 44th edition of the Inter Municipal Volleyball Games in both genders at Fernando “Plaza” Valerio Club.

The event kicks off on October 6 with the participation of teams representing the municipalities of Cienfuegos, San José de las Matas, Licey, Villa González, Puñal, Gurabo, Jánico, Tamboril and Navarrete for a total of 18 teams and around 175 athletes.

José Aybar, president of the Volleyball Association of Santiago informed that each team will be reinforced with one player coming from the men’s and women’s national projects.

For the tournament, the facilities at Plaza Valerio has gone through a process of renovation for the comfort and delight of the players and fans.

Aybar also announced that the semifinals and finals of the tournament will take place at the Great Arena of Cibao, the main indoor sport facility in the country.

The Inter Municipal Games are supported by the Ministry of Sports, The Senatorial Office of Santiago, Norceca Confederation, Molten, Coop San Jose, Patrimonial Fund of Reformed Enterprises and the Santiago Volleyball Association.
