NORCECA Press Commission Highlights
Progress and New Initiatives
SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic, June 18, 2026. – The NORCECA
Press and Mass Media Commission held its annual virtual meeting
with the participation of its members, led by NORCECA President
Cristóbal Marte Hoffiz, who acknowledged the significant
progress achieved in communications, media coverage, and digital
promotion over the past year.
During the meeting, a detailed report was presented on the
growth of NORCECA’s digital platforms, the increase in content
production for the official website, the impact of social media,
and the strengthening of photographic and audiovisual coverage
of continental events. The fundamental role of Press Delegates
and Official Photographers in ensuring timely and professional
dissemination of information from competitions organized by the
Confederation was also highlighted.
In his opening remarks, Marte Hoffiz congratulated the
Commission for its work throughout the year, emphasizing the
quality of event coverage, photographic production, and advances
in live streaming. He also noted that the growth achieved has
created new opportunities for the future commercialization of
streaming services and the continued strengthening of NORCECA’s
media presence.
Participants also reviewed various operational aspects related
to the coverage of both indoor and beach volleyball events,
including the importance of providing adequate infrastructure
for media teams, guaranteed internet access, dedicated
workspaces for the press, and improvements in content production
and transmission processes. Proposals were also discussed to
expand technological support for the Zonal Associations and
further strengthen coverage of events with streaming services.
Among the key achievements presented was the remarkable growth
of NORCECA’s social media platforms, the consolidation of Flickr
as the Confederation’s official photo archive, and the reach
generated by numerous posts that surpassed 100,000 views.
The meeting concluded with recognition of the collective efforts
of the Press Commission members and a reaffirmation of their
commitment to advancing modern, efficient, and strategic
communication that contributes to the development and promotion
of volleyball throughout the NORCECA region.
