NORCECA Tour Fifth Stage serves off on
Friday at El Salvador
SAN SALVADOR, El Salvador, December 7, 2023.-
The Fifth Stage of the NORCECA Beach Volleyball Tour
serves off on Friday where 14 women’s and 16 men’s teams are set to
compete at the Beach Sports Stadium of Flor Blanca Sports Complex in San
Salvador, El Salvador.
The event that will be livestreamed on www.AloudSports.com,
features medalists of this 2023 season.
María González and Allanis Navas from Puerto Rico won the
last two stages of the tour, in addition to clinching the championship
at the Central American and Caribbean Games right here in San Salvador.
The duo of Atenas Gutiérrez and Abril Flores emerged as
winners of the first stage in Aguascalientes. Atenas also claimed the
silver medal in the second stage in Varadero, but with Susana Torres.
American Katie Lindstrom took home Varadero’s gold with
Teegan Van Gunst, but here she pairs with Avery Poppinga.
Molly Turner, who finished in second place in Punta Cana,
will team up with Deahna Kraft as another pair representing the United
States.
Lea Monkhouse from Canada, who won the bronze medal in
the third stage in the Cayman Islands, is joining forces with Marie-Alex
Bélanger.
On the men’s side, Miguel Sarabia and Juan Virgen from
Mexico, champions of the Central American and Caribbean Games here in El
Salvador, won the third stage of the tour in the Cayman Islands and
kicked off the season in Aguascalientes with a silver medal.
Both Canadian teams, Arran Chambers/Liam Kopp and Jake
MacNeil/Alexander Russell, also earned medals this year. Chambers/Kopp
claimed bronze in Aguascalientes, while MacNeil/Russell won silver in
Punta Cana.
