SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic, June 15, 2016 – The NORCECA
Confederation has donated to the Organizing Committee of the XV
Women’s Pan American Cup all the volleyball equipment to be used
during the event to take place in Santo Domingo from June 30 to
July 11.
The volleyball goods which include Molten volleyballs, antennas,
ball carts, manual scoreboards and court lines, were presented
by NORCECA President Cristobal Marte Hoffiz to Major General
Elvis Feliz Pérez, Chief Commander of the Dominican Air Force
and president of the organizing committee, and Ramon Garcia,
president of the Dominican Republic Volleyball Federation.
“This is the kind of donation we make annually to the hosting
national federation,” Marte Hoffiz said. “The sporting goods
will be distributed at the end of the tournament to all 32 local
associations to help the promotion of the practice of volleyball
in the country.”
Commander Feliz Perez thanked NORCECA and commented on the
support the organizing committee has received from different
sources
“This is an important contribution from NORCECA well ahead of
the start of the competition,” Feliz Pérez said. “We appreciate
the assistance from NORCECA and its authorities as well as the
cooperation we are receiving from the private corporations of
the Dominican Republic as well as public institutions.”
The president of the organizing committee convened all the
volleyball fans to attend to the six daily matches during the
Pan American Cup to enjoy what he considers will be an
unforgettable experience.
“All the volleyball fans are invited to support this event of
high quality,” he said. “The experience will be unforgettable
with twelve great women’s teams from all over the Americas
competing in Santo Domingo.”
“We are practically ready to receive all the delegations and the
organizing committee continues to work with all the commissions
to make of this event a complete success,” he added.
Garcia praised the contribution of NORCECA and expressed
gratitude for granting the Dominican Federation to host the
event.
“NORCECA and its president Marte Hoffiz has played a key role in
the organization of the event helping with the cost of the
transportation of the international officials and referees and
dealing with our governmental authorities the coverage of lodge
and meals of all delegations,” Garcia said.
The Barcelo Lina hotel, located at walking distance to the main
competition venue, will be the official hotel for all the
delegations, referees and authorities from the Pan American
Volleyball Union.
