SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic, April 9, 2015 – NORCECA
Confederation donated the volleyball equipment to be utilized by
the teams of Autonomous University of Santo Domingo in their
preparation ahead of the Central American and Caribbean
University Games.
The fifteenth edition of the multi-sport event, to be held in
Panama City from August 16 to 22, includes women’s and men’s
volleyball in the competition program. Around 1,200 athletes
from 17 countries are expected to take part.
Nelson Ramirez, Executive Director of NORCECA, presented balls,
scoreboards and other equipment to Felix Martinez Bido, director
of the sport department of the state university.
The competition will take place at Jose Remon Gymnasium of
Panama City under the rules of the International Volleyball
Federation (FIVB). The organizing committee is presided over by
Professor Sonia Stapf.
The participation of the Dominica Republic is under the
supervision of the Dominican University Athletic Council
presided over by Apolinar Peralta. |
