NORCECA, COBAR & CACSO working together

BARRANQUILLA, Colombia, July 18, 2018. - NORCECA President, Cristobal Marte Hoffiz, held a joint meeting with Armando Segovia Technical Director of the Barranquilla Organizing Committee (COBAR) and Humberto Cintron Technical Director of the Central American and Caribbean Sports Organization (CACSO), on the occasion of the Barranquilla 2018 XXIII Central American and Caribbean Games.

Marte Hoffiz previously visited Barranquilla for two preliminary inspections, extending a thorough report of all NORCECA requirements, to have the Humberto Perea Coliseum (volleyball venue) and the Puerta del Sol Convention Center (beach volleyball venue) well-conditioned.

“I am confident that the facilities will be up and going; our extensive previous and present meetings must have a positive outcome, as the COBAR has shown a cooperative position to fulfill our needs” said Cristobal Marte.

The Humberto Perea Coliseum will host the women’s volleyball tournament from July 20-25 and the men’s tournament from July 28 to August 2; while the double-gender beach volleyball tournament will run from July 28 to August 1^st at the Puerta del Sol Convention Center.

Cristobal Marte added “NORCECA’s role is to guarantee that the competition runs under our regulations and standards and of that of FIVB, offer effective solutions to any inconvenient, as well as the well-being of all our athletes. We are committed in making volleyball the most successful sport at the Barranquilla Games”.

Armando Segovia and Humberto Cintron confirmed their commitment to working together with NORCECA and are making all the necessary arrangements for the final inspection set for the eve of the competition.
