SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic, April 18, 2015 – The
Dominican Republic National Volleyball Federation, in
cooperation with NORCECA Confederation and the FIVB/NORCECA
Regional Development Center, is running a VIS, Data Volley and
Data Video Course in Santo Domingo.
The three-day course is under the direction of Yeivic Jimenez of
Venezuela who is the statistician of the Dominican Republic
Women’s National Team. He is assisted by VIS supervisors Yanida
Pascual and Bienvenido Mateo of Dominican Republic.
Sixty participants hailing from the 32 provinces are receiving
theoretical instructions and all of them will have the chance to
practice at the U20 Women’s Pan American Cup that starts on
Sunday in Santo Domingo.
Alexis Garcia, president of the Dominican Republic National
Federation, Luis Mejia Oviedo, president of the Dominican
Olympic Committee, and Cristobal Marte Hoffiz, president of
NORCECA, both remarked on the importance of technology in
today’s volleyball.
They also highlighted the fact that the Dominican Federation has
organized three courses in less than a month.
All members of the control committee of the U20 Women’s Pan
American Cup to be held in Santo Domingo from April 19 to 24
were also present at the opening ceremony of the course. |
