New FIVB Board of Administration
approves composition of Executive Committee
November 19, 2024-The newly formed FIVB
Board of Administration met following the successful conclusion of the
first-ever Global Volleyball Summit at the FIVB 39th World Congress.
Chaired for the first time by the
newly elected FIVB President Fabio Azevedo, the meeting focused on
laying the groundwork for the next phase of the Global Volleyball
Movement. The key decisions taken included the reappointment of Yuji
Saeki and the appointment of FIVB Secretary General Hugh McCutcheon to
the Board of Administration were announced.
The FIVB Board of Administration also
confirmed the composition of the Executive Committee for the 2024-2028
Olympic cycle, which will be as follows:

Addressing the Board, Fabio Azevedo
said:
“It is fantastic to be with you all
here today after an incredible 39th World Congress. The new Board is
made up of over 50% new members, so this is a very exciting time for our
sport as we serve the Global Volleyball Movement and move volleyball to
phase three.
“Through the Strategic Vision
2024-2032 pillars of professionalism, integration, empowerment and mass
participation, alongside a united approach, I am confident that we will
achieve a great deal for our sport in the years ahead.”
The compositions for the 2024-2028
term of three judicial bodies – the FIVB Appeals Panel, FIVB
Disciplinary Panel and FIVB Tribunal – and the appointment of Mr Olivier
Zysset as FIVB Controller were also approved by the FIVB Board of
Administration.
Among other topics, the FIVB Board
discussed the compositions of all Councils & Commissions for 2024-2028
and these will be confirmed at a later date.
The new FIVB Board is set to work
collaboratively to drive the continued growth and success of volleyball
worldwide through the pillars of professionalism, integration,
empowerment and mass participation outlined in the Strategic Vision
2024-2032. |
