Nicaragua remains undefeated

MANAGUA, Nicaragua, September 9, 2017.- Nicaragua remains undefeated after defeating Belize 3-0  (25-15, 25-16, 25-14) moving forward to win the XVII AFECAVOL U-21 Men’s Central American Championship at IND Volleyball venue in Managua, Nicaragua.

During the entire event, Nicaragua has balanced its offence and against Belize it was not the exception; Denis Lopez led with 17 points, Byron Hernandez scored 9, Jonny Zeledon added 6 and four other players chipped in with 4 points each. Francis Hauze of Belize scored 21 points on a match-high.

Delio Arruebarrena, head coach of Belize said “this was a good tournament for us, the boys played a lot and won international experience; all this helps our players to develop more”.

Osman Hernández, head coach of Nicaragua indicated “my team is still improving; today we used two bench players that helped us win set two. The team has a lot of energy and we have players with good height. The boys want to finish strong tonight”.
