Nicaragua wins battle against Honduras in five sets

Managua, June 24, 2019 - Nicaragua fought again to win 3-2 (25-21, 22-25, 16-25, 25-21, 15-13) over Honduras, claiming its second triumph of the IV Central American Championship U23.

The host team got up from losing 1-2 on set and the injury of its captain Maria Belén Arcia in the third, to overcome a Honduran team that fought until the end thanks to the actions of its main players Nathaly Pérez and Cecille Johnson with 21 and 18 points respectively.

For Nicaragua, María Fernanda Campos finished with 15 points, 12 from Andrea Pereira and 11 from Dalia Conto.

Honduras led the attack 42-38 and blocking 7-6, but the Nicaraguans held the advantage in service 15-11, and added 44 points for errors of the opponent, committing 45.
