PLAYA BLANCA, Panamá, November 15, 2015 – The name of the
Nicaraguan Ruben Mora will be etched in the history of beach
volleyball by winning on Sunday its fourth gold medal in the
Central American Men’s U21 Beach Volleyball Championship when
Nicaragua 1 defeated 2-0 (21-11, 21-14) Wagner Chacon/Erik
Flores of Guatemala-1 in the final held at the Hotel Royal
Decameron Farallon.
This time Mora had youngster Denis López (16 years-old) as the
partner, with the previous champion trophies won with Miguel
López.
Mireya Luis, the Cuban three-time Olympic champion, member of
the NORCECA Executive Committee, who was special guest of the
Panamanian Volleyball Federation and its president Javier
Ortega, took part in the award ceremony also in the presence of
Roberto Arango, director of the Panamanian Sport Institute.
Mora raised another trophy for his collection after battling
Chacon/Flores who had played three sets against Costa Rica-2
(Jean Velluti/Fabian Guerra) in the semifinals.
In the other semifinal Mora/Lopez defeated Alejandro Gonzalez
and Sebastian Valenciano of Costa Rica-1 2-0 (21-14, 21-17).
The match for third place went to Costa Rica-2 (Velluti/Guerra)
by default over Costa Rica-1 (González/Valenciano) due to an
