American and Caribbean Volleyball Confederation (Norceca)
donated sport material to the Local Organizing Committee of
Veracruz 2014.
The donation consisting in volleyballs, nets and antennas, as
well as some other items, took part at the Cordoba Arena, and
was directed by Norceca President , Cristobal Marte Hoffiz, who
was accompannied by members of the Control Committee, as well as
Fatima del Ángel, Host City Coordinator; Briseida Romero, Venue
Coordinator of the Arena, and Juan Gerardo Perdomo, Facilities
Manager.
“We have been the only confederation that has contributed with
the local organizing committee and wants to share this legacy,”
said Marte Hoffiz. “We also have donated one sport court,
because we feel these are our games.”
The Norceca President also remarked that the tournament will
have a special taste for all of us. “The Central American and
Caribbean Games are the Olympic Games of our region,” said Marte
Hoffiz. “We have four teams that competed at the FIVB World
Championship in Italy such as Puerto Rico, Mexico, Cuba and
Dominican Republic.”
These teams had the chance to hold their first practices at the
main court of the Cordoba Arena after their arrival to the city
and their presentation to the Control Committee at the Fortin de
las Flores Hotel.
“We could start with our preliminary inquiries with three teams,
that were Mexico, Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico, that have
already began their training sessions,” Marte Hoffiz added.
The second day of preliminary inquiries will take part on
Thursday as well as the first Practical Clinic at the Arena. |
