Norceca Players among top scorers at FIVB WWCH
BARI, Italy, September 26, 2014 – Karina Ocasio of Puerto Rico
is in second place in points and spikes after three days of
competition at FIVB Women’s World Championship in Italy.
Ocasio has a total of 65 points and is behind Polina Rahimova of
Azerbaijan, that is the leader with 74 units. Other two Norceca
players that are among 10 best scorers are Mexican Andrea
Rangel, who is sixth with 48 points, while Dominican Republic’s
Bethania de la Cruz is tenth with 45 points.
Ocasio, who plays as opposite for Puerto Rico, is also second in
attacks with a 50.44 effective percentage, only behind Italy’s
Nadia Centoni, who has 50.98%. Other players of the Puerto Rican
team are among the top ten in their fundamentals like Lynda
Morales in blocking plays. Morales is tenth with 9 blocks and
Aury Cruz is fifth in reception with a 36.22%, after playing
only two matches. |
