Norma Brenes of Nicaragua Named MVP of the VI Central American Women's U23 Championship

Tegucigalpa, Honduras, June 29, 2024.- Nicaragua's setter, Norma Brenes, was selected as the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the 6th Central American Women's U23 Championship.

Brenes received the award during the closing ceremony after Nicaragua won the gold medal, emerging as the undefeated champion of the tournament. They topped the standings, followed by 2nd place Costa Rica, 3rd place Belize, 4th place Guatemala, 5th place Honduras, 6th place El Salvador, and 7th place Panama.

Other individual performance awards, based on statistical data from the event, were also presented.

From Costa Rica, the team that finished in second place, Ana Victoria Rojas was awarded Best Opposite, and Rashanny Solano was named Best Libero. Additionally, Nhya Barley from Costa Rica was recognized as the 2nd Best Blocker.

Belize's Fatuomata Camara received honors as the tournament's Top Scorer and Best Spiker, while Nissan Martínez was recognized as Best Blocker.

For Guatemala, María Andrea Santa Cruz was named the 2nd Best Spiker, Ana Granados received the award for Best Receiver, and Jimena Castellanos was honored as Best Setter.

Honduran Natalia Reyes was awarded Best Server, and Salvadoran Mónica Portillo was recognized as Best Defense.
