Twenty matches in opening day at Mission Beach
MISSION BEACH, Trinidad, November 16, 2012 – Twenty matches are
scheduled in the opening day of the Trinidad & Tobago Beach
Volleyball Tournament, the tenth leg of the 2012 NORCECA Circuit
at Mission Beach in Toco.
The preliminary enquiry and general technical meeting took place
on Thursday night presided over by Mayra Huerta, the NORCECA
delegate for the competition, and with the presence of Daymian
Stewart, the new president of Trinidad & Tobago Volleyball
Federation.
The men’s action, covering 14 matches, opens at 9:00 with
Michael Hammond and William Sidgwick of Canada facing Kevin
Rivers and Jason Dennis of Trinidad and Tobago-C in Court 1 and
Guatemala’s Julio Recinos and Luis Garcia playing with Weston
Carico and Curt Toppel of USA-B in Court 2.
In the women’s division, starting at 12:00, the first matches
have Kimberly Dalcourt and Rosalie Sinanan of Canada-A playing
against the USA-B team of Tealle Hunkus and Traci Weamer
followed by the contest between Summer Ross and Emily Day of
USA-A and Shenelle Gordon and Lateisha Joseph of Trinidad and
Tobago-C.
The sixteen-team men’s field will play in a single bracket with
double elimination while the eleven women’s teams are divided
into four pools with the top two teams of each pool then
advancing to a knock-out round. |
