Sport Management Seminar concludes in Punta Cana
PUNTA CANA, Dominican Republic, October 5, 2011 – The NORCECA
International Sport Management for National Federations Category
I and II concluded on Wednesday with the ceremony of certificate
presentation chaired by Mr. Jizhong Wei, President of the FIVB.
The second day session opened with the presentation of Mr. John
Kessel of USA who spoke about volleyball in schools, the
integration of the family to the sport, and the way to teach
volleyball among several topics.
He was followed by Mr. Larry Romany, President of the Trinidad
and Tobago Olympic Committee, who explained the marketing
opportunities for the national federations, how to attract
sponsors and the utilization of athletes in their publicity
campaigns.
Roosevelt Comarazamy of Dominican Republic and NORCECA Press
Officer, commented about the importance of a good image
throughout public relations and offered advice on the
organization of press conferences and the profile of the ideal
PR man or woman.
Also Mr. Nelson Ramirez, Director of the FIVB Regional
Development Center in Dominican Republic, made reference to the
organization of the different seminars and courses during the
year and the necessity of development.
The final exposition was made by NORCECA President, Mr.
Cristobal Marte Hoffiz, who explained the qualification process
to be implemented by the Confederation towards the FIVB Men’s
and Women’s World Championship in 2014 and also the situation of
the Beach Volleyball Continental Cup, a qualifier to the London
Olympic Games.
The closing words were pronounced by Mr. Mushtaque Mohammed,
Vice President of NORCECA in charge of development who
congratulated the participants and praised the exponents and the
NORCECA staff. |
