performance today. Our young team is getting better. I think we
improved overall today. Peru gave us a very tough match; I am
happy how we reacted In pass and attack much better than
yesterday.
Cynthia Barboza (USA Captain): “Peru showed us some things we
have to improve I our game, but overall I liked the way our team
went out and played today. On the third set, they had some
problems with their attack and we made some adjustments.”
Lauren Gibbemeyer (USA Player): “I am happy how we played. We’ve
been playing together for a long time and the connection with my
teammates has improving for good. This is my first USA
tournament ever and everyone here has been really nice. I am
excited to play in such a prestigious tournament. There are very
good teams in this championship. Tomorrow we will face Mexico,
and we have to be prepared.”
Luca Cristofani (Coach of Peru): “To win this match, we should
have more attention in some things in particular. We made a lot
of mistakes in very simple things. In this match we could not
allow that. With a team like ours, shorter in height, we should
do better other things, but I am satisfied with the reception
and defense.”
Patricia Soto (Peru’s Captain): “Peru had some good moments
during the match. Unfortunately we could not have the
consistency, and we hope to solve this in our next match. Today
this was not a good result, but tomorrow will be decisive and we
will go continuously.”
Yessenia Uceda (Player of Peru): “These are my third Pan Am
Games. Each match means a lot for me. Unfortunately we are
experiencing a moment in which we have to improve some things
and hope as the competition continues, we can do it.” |
