CALI, Colombia, November 26, 2021. - The Pan
American Union of Volleyball - UPV -paid tribute
to late Dr. Rafael Lloreda Currea before the
debut of Colombia at the men’s volleyball
tournament of the I Junior Pan American Games
Cali-Valle 2021.
On behalf of the Pan American Union of
Volleyball, its President Cristóbal Marte Hoffiz
accompanied by members UPV executive committee,
of the Colombian Volleyball Federation and
Baltazar Medina President of the Colombian
Olympic Committee, presented a plaque to his son
Rafael Iván Lloreda Hoyos.
Lloreda Currea who passed away in April as a
result of COVID-19, was President of the South
American Volleyball Confederation, FIVB Vice
President and treasurer of the Colombian Olympic
Committee.
“Today we honor a great Colombian, a friend, a
kind person who guided volleyball in the
American Continent and was the architect of
bringing the I Junior Pan American Games to Cali
and sadly today we mourn his passing but remains
alive forever in volleyball” said Cristóbal
Marte Hoffiz.
Also, Mr. Francisco Lee, President of the
Association of Pan American Sports
Confederations ACODEPA recognized Lloreda Currea
contribution to sports with the medal of sport
merit. |
