Pan American Volleyball Union applauds Peru
LIMA, Peru, July 30, 2019. - The Pan American Volleyball Union
UPV along with the North American Volleyball Confederation
NORCECA and the South American Volleyball Confederation CSV
applauds Peru’s efforts volleyball’s successful beginning at the
XVIII Pan American Games Lima 2019.
For the next twelve days the best volleyball of the American
Continent will compete at the Multisport Complex El Callao for
the men’s and women’s volleyball tournaments of the Lima 2019.
Dr. Rafael Lloreda Currea, President of the Pan American
Volleyball Union and the South American Volleyball Confederation
excelled the importance of the joint efforts of both
Confederations during the general technical meeting of the men’s
tournament “together joining hands we are aiming to recover our
place worldwide with this highly-competitive tournament. The top
eight teams in America will enhance our beautiful sport during
the Pan American Games”.
On behalf of Pan Am Sports, Rodrigo Moreno praised the local
organizing committee and the international technical staff for
taking care of every detail and welcomed the participating teams
leaving them with the message of fair play during the event.
Cristobal Marte Hoffiz, President of the NORCECA Confederation
said “I appreciate the enormous efforts and cooperation from
Peru for their outstanding work in building a first class venue
for all of us volleyball passionate followers to enjoy the most
important sports event in our continent. The organization has
been remarkable”.
According to Ariel Sainz, competition director, all the
suggestions made during the test event a few months ago were
attended and volleyball is ready to kick off at the Lima 2019
Pan American Games.
The Multisport Complex El Callao hosted Taekwondo less than 24
hours ago and the building is all set for the beginning of
volleyball with more than the necessary facilities for a
successful event.
