GUATEMALA CITY, Guatemala, October 22, 2015.- Panama concludes

victory over Belize 3-0 (25-21, 25-20,25-10) at Teodoro Palacios
Flores Gymnasium.
Panama finishes the event with 2-4 win-loss record and 15
points, in fourth place of the final ranking. Belize didn’t get
any victory and finishes seventh place.
The score in the first two sets was always close and tied on
several occasions, neither one dominated the actions with a slow
rhythm. Panama finished with a huge margin and better control of
the ball.

Outside hitters Jose Anguizola and Ramon Gonzalez scored 14
points apiece and middle blocker Alejandro Camarena contributed
with 10 points in Panama’s winning campaign. Middle blocker
Francis Hauze and outside hitter Pablo Espat scored 9 points
each for Belize.
Pablo Espat captain of Belize said “in the morning we had a
conversation about how se feel about the tournament. The first
two sets, especially the first, were good, but after Panama got
the lead we got discouraged and confused, we have evolved and we
are building up. The lack of experience made us commit more
errors and we lacked communication”.
Jose Anguizola captain of Panama said “we had no energy; it was
an exhausting tournament for us. We are closing with a victory
and we are happy to finish with an acceptable position”.
Coach Marco Perez said “Belize has players with good height,
they jump well and with continuous work they well see better
results. We had little time to practice, in two years we will
have these same players and with more time the federations will
present stronger teams”.
Coach Wallace Tillett of Belize said “to be honest I am happy
with my guys, they came out and they fought, this is their first
international tournament, no experience what so ever. We had to
make changes and adopt on the way and they gave our best. This
is a learning experience; we now know where to start from and
what to reach”. |
