Panamerican Volleyball Union, UPV, announces countries qualified for
Santiago 2023 Beach Volleyball
SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic, August 9, 2023. - The Panamerican
Volleyball Confederation announces the list of countries qualified for
the Women’s and Men’s Beach Volleyball Tournaments of the XX Pan
American Games Santiago 2023, to be held in Chile from October 20 to
November 5.
The Beach Volleyball Tournament will feature the 32 teams, 16 per
gender, using the following qualification system: one quota for the host
country (Chile), one quota for the highest-ranked team from each
Confederation (NORCECA and South American Confederation CSV) during the
I Junior Pan American Games held in Cali in 2021, three quotas based on
the FIVB World Ranking, and five quotas based on the Ranking of each
Confederation (NORCECA and South American Confederation CSV).
Therefore, these are the qualified countries for the Women’s Beach
Volleyball tournament:
Chile (host), Brazil and Puerto Rico (I Junior Pan American Games Cali
2021); United States, Canada and Paraguay (FIVB World Ranking); Mexico,
Guatemala, Dominican Republic, El Salvador and Costa Rica (NORCECA
Ranking); Argentina, Ecuador, Peru, Colombia and Uruguay (CSV Ranking).
The qualified countries for the Men’s Beach Volleyball tournament is as
follows:
Chile (Host), Brazil and Cuba (I Junior Pan American Games Cali 2021);
United States, Argentina and Canada (FIVB World Ranking); Mexico,
Guatemala, Costa Rica, El Salvador and Nicaragua (NORCECA Ranking);
Ecuador, Uruguay, Paraguay, Colombia and Bolivia (CSV Ranking).
Each National Federation alongside their respective National Olympic
Committee must officially confirm their registration to compete at the
Pan American Games.
