Patriotas and Cafeteros Assert Their
Dominance with Strong Home Victories
LARES, Puerto Rico, November 13, 2025. Thursday’s action in the
Puerto Rico Men’s Superior Volleyball League (LVSM) was marked by
straight-set wins for the home teams: Patriotas de Lares and
Cafeteros de Yauco.
At
the Félix Méndez Coliseum, the Patriotas defeated the Changos de
Naranjito with set scores of 25-20, 25-21, and 25-19.
Lares’ offense was led by Garrett Muagututia with 13 points and
Gabriel Colón with 12, along with Pablo Guzmán, who added 10. With
this victory, Lares collected all three available points, improving
their record to 6-2 and reaching 18 points, allowing them to tie for
first place in the standings with the San Sebastián Caribes (7-0, 18
points).
For
Naranjito, which remains in eighth place with a 1-7 record and 5
points, Clarke Godbold stood out with 11 points.
In
the team statistics, the Patriotas outperformed the Changos in
attacks (42-30), aces (6-3), digs (32-30), passes (36-32), and
assists (25-12). Naranjito held the advantage in blocks, 7-6.
Meanwhile, at the Raúl “Pipote” Olivieras Coliseum, the Cafeteros de
Yauco defended their home court by defeating the Gigantes de
Adjuntas 3-0 with scores of 25-18, 25-17, and 25-21. With the three
points earned, Yauco improved its record to 6-2 and reached 15
points, staying close to the leading Caribes and Patriotas.
Adjuntas, meanwhile, remains in seventh place with a 1-7 record and
6 points.
Juan
Felipe Castañeda and Brandon Rattray led Yauco’s offense with 16 and
14 points respectively, while Cristian Encarnación contributed 14
points for the Gigantes. |
