DURANGO, Mexico, September 28, 2021 - Peru
defeated a tough Puerto Rico 3-1 (25-17, 25-27,
25-21, 28-26) in a semifinal clash for positions
13-16 of the FIVB U18 Girls’ Volleyball World
Championship on Tuesday.
Peruvian Alondra Alarcón punished the opposition
with 27 points with Saskia Silvano next with
16. Chareika Carrión led Puerto Rico with 19
tallies.
In another match, Mexico defeated Canada in
straight sets 3-0 (25-20, 28-26, 25-16) and will
play Peru for the 13th place while Canada will
meet Puerto Rico for the 15th position.
Aimé Topete was the best scorer in Mexico with
15 points followed by Leah Linares with 9. Sara
Cantu, Carla Esquer and Maria Ximena Cruz each
contributed 8 points.
Olivia Boulding and Lauren Hovey each finished
with 9 points for Canada. |
