Comments:
Diego Recavarren, assistant coach Peru: “Happy for this victory,
we’ve been waiting for this moment for a long time because we’ve
been preparing a lot, the team has evolved and they deserved to
win. The guys were anxious because of the importance of its
outcome, we benefited from our opponents bad reception of our
floating serves”.
Eduardo Romay, captain Peru: “Trinidad and Tobago never stop
fighting, they spike hard, so we lost our organized game-plan in
the beginning. This is an important win, in last year’s Cup we
finished win-less, and so we are really happy. We are still
anxious for what’s left of the event”.
Akim Bushe, captain Trinidad and Tobago: “We came out with a lot
of intensity, we dropped a bit coming to the end of the first
set and it reflected on the scores. In the second set we were
stronger, even took the lead so we got a little relaxed
committing errors that benefited Peru. In the third we tried to
get our rhythm back with no result; still I admire the good
energy from my team, they kept pushing and smiling. We have a
lot to work on and look forward for the next matches, and next
tournament as well”. |
