points on 6 kills and a match-high of 4 blocks,
outside hitter Melissa Langegger and middle
blocker Allyssah Fitterer followed with 9 and 8

Francisco Hervas, head coach of Peru:
“It was a difficult match for us, after falling
to Puerto Rico, it’s emotionally hard for our
team. Today we confirmed we can continue to
compete; the result was in our favor. The team
was disciplined in blocking, the players
understood what we wanted them to do, sometimes
that’s what matches are all about. Canada is a
good team, with a lot of energy and dynamic, so
we stood strong and stopped them, it wasn’t
easy”.
Avery Heppell, top scorer of Canada:
“The first two sets were much better, we came
out strong, it was part of our game plan. It was
unfortunate we gave them too many points in the
third set, we weren’t as strong as we needed to
be. We will close by giving our all tomorrow”.
