Fabricio Cerpa scored 8 points in the
tie-breaker to lead Peru to the men's volleyball

headed for a comfortable victory, but were hit
by a backlash from the Dominicans who forced a
decisive fifth set that was tied at 6-6 as the
South Americans broke away and found their way
to success.
The final score was 3-2 (25-22, 25-17, 19-25,
19-25, 15-11) for a Peruvian team that had
succumbed in five sets against Chile in the
semifinal phase.
The Dominicans concluded their participation
with a 1-3 record, defeating Bolivia 3-2 and
losing to Chile also in five sets.
In the semifinals they lost to Colombia 3-1. |
