TRUJILLO, Peru, July 2, 2015 - This second weekend of the FIVB
Volleyball World Grand Prix begins on Friday and four teams in
Group P will compete to qualify for the Group 3 Finals from July
10-12 in Canberra, Australia.
Peru and Colombia have come from playing in Pool O in Monterrey,
while Kazakhstan played hosts to Cuba in Pool N. The matches
this weekend will take place in the Gran Chimú Coliseum of
Trujillo, a location which promises to generate lots of emotions
and a beautiful celebration of the sport.
Colombia coach Eduardo Guillaume
said: “This is a new and good experience for us because each
international game adds growth to our team. We are four good
teams and I believe that from these teams, three of them will go
to the Finals and nobody wants to be in fourth place.”
Cuba coach Roberto García recognized that this Pool will be very
tough, because it includes three high-level teams. “The first
game for us will be decisive because we came from losing against
Kazakhstan by 2-3, but I believe that the girls have now fully
recovered from our thirty hour trip. I believe that now we are
going to play a good match and get the nine points to qualify
for the Finals in Australia”.
Kazakhstan coach Olekrsandr Gutor said: “We have been working
step by step, each point, each set is very important and we will
try to do our best. The strongest teams are in Pool P and I
believe that now all of them have the same possibility of
qualifying for the grand finale in Australia”.
For the host team, coach Mauro Marasciulo said: “Each match is
complicated - we know of the strength of Cuba and Kazakhstan; I
believe that with our first rival we will have a match full of
tension and we must be calm because it is crucial to obtain a
qualification.” |
