BRIDGETOWN, Barbados, December 11, 2015 - Trinidad & Tobago's
outside hitter Marlon Philip scored a phenomenal 42 points
inclusive of a tournament high 36 kills against Guadeloupe to
lead his team into the semifinals of the 10th CAZOVA Junior
championships in the Wildey Gym, Bridgetown.
After Guadeloupe took the second set, the fans were expecting a
tough battle until Philip starred in his own show as T&T took
the match 25-18, 23-25, 25-17, 25-18, to book a date with
Curaçao who had won Group A.
The next best scorer for T&T was Adriel Roberts with 13 points.
For Guadeloupe Franco's Jean Ruffe with 18 points and Marvin
Cancan with 10 battled to take the spot in the semis. But,
Guadeloupe's fight was in vain against the fury of Philip.
The winner of Group B, Barbados will face Haiti which places
three teams from that Group in the semifinals. |
