Players awarded during farewell dinner
BOCA
CHICA, Dominican Republic, October 7, 2019 – The medal
winners in the double gender beach volleyball tournament
Hamaca Finals NORCECA 2019 were awarded during a
dinner-party held on Sunday night in one of the banquet
rooms of the traditional hotel in Boca Chica, 20 miles to
the East of Santo Domingo.
USA’s
Kerri Walsh Jennings and Brooke Sweat and Jacob Gibb and
Taylor Crabb, received their gold medals and top prize money
from Mireya Luis, manager of operations of the Organizing
Committee, Roosevelt Comarazamy, NORCECA press delegate,
Daymian Stewart, technical director, and Roberto Rosario,
representative of Be Live Hamaca.
Yanisleidys Sanchez and Lidiannis Echeverría (silver) and
Emily Stockman and Kelley Larsen (bronze) completed the
women’s podium, while Sam Pedlow and Sam Schachter (silver)
and Ryan Doherty and Miles Evans (bronze) completed the
men’s top three.
“Congratulations to all the medal winners and to those who
won valuable points in this event,” Luis said. “I hope you
have enjoyed your stay in the Dominican Republic and hope to
have you back next year”.
She
thanked the sponsors who made it possible to host the event
for second year in a row, especially to Group Mejia Arcala
and Be Live Hamaca Hotel.
The
music band of Hamaca hotel played during the dinner much to
the delight of the players who enjoyed the traditional roast
pork of the local cuisine.
