Poland improves to 8-2 in Men’s VNL

RIMINI, Italy, June 15, 2021 – Poland swept Canada 3-0 (25-22, 25-23, 25-19) in a men’s volleyball match of the FIVB Nations League. Poland improved its record to 8-2 while Canada dropped to 2-8.

The Cuban-born Wilfredo Leon and Bartosz Kurek wach landed 15 points as the offensive leaders of the Polish squad.

Sharone Vernon-Evans topped the Canadian attack with 16 points, followed by Nicholas Hoag and John Gordon-Perrin with 11 and 9 points, respectively.

Each team totaled four blocks while Canada held the edge in serves 5-4. The Canadians made 23 unforced errors to 19 by the Polish side. The winners led in attacks 44-39.
