SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic, May 15, 2021
- The President of the Dominican Republic, H.E.
Luis Abinader presented with the national flag
the members of the Women's Volleyball National
Team that will compete in the FIVB League of
Nations in the city of Rimini, Italy starting on
May 25.
The ceremony took place in the Ambassadors' Room
of the National Palace and President Abinader
was accompanied by the First Lady, Mrs. Raquel
Arbaje, and the Administrative Minister of the
Presidency, Mr. José Ignacio Paliza.
The Dominican players were accompanied by Mr.
Cristóbal Marte Hoffiz, president of the Women's
National Teams Project of the Dominican
Volleyball Federation.
Team captain Prisilla Rivera and star player
Bethania de la Cruz presented a framed national
team jersey to President Abinader.
The meeting was also attended by Kennedy Vargas,
Vice Minister of Sports and Fernando Hasbun and
Milagros Cabral, who are collaborators with the
Women’s Project.
President Abinader took time to greet each
player and the First Lady declared herself a fan
of “The Queens of the Caribbean” as the
Dominicans are called by their followers. |
