SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic, July 29, 2015
– The President of the Dominican Republic H.E. Danilo Medina
commended the bronze medal attained by the women’s national
volleyball team at the recently concluded Pan American Games in
Toronto, Canada.
The Dominican side finished in third position at
the volleyball tournament after a victory over Puerto Rico in
the final day of the women’s competition.
The women’s volleyball was the only team sport
representing the Dominican Republic at the Games that finished
in a podium position.
In a letter remitted to Cristobal Marte Hoffiz,
president of the women’s development project of the Dominican
Volleyball Federation, Mr. Medina expressed his personal and on
behalf of the government “sincere greetings for the bronze
medal achieved at the XVII Pan American Games Toronto 2015.
“I ask you to reiterate to each one of them my
respect and admiration for their outstanding effort and the
competitive spirit that always accompanies them in all their
commitments, to renew the pride of all the Dominicans.
“It is my desire that they continue showing their
qualities to provide us with new joy and satisfactions.” |
