President Medina praises volleyball victory
SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic, November 25, 2014 – The
president of the Dominican Republic, Mr. Danilo Medina praised
the performance by the national athletes at the XXII Central
American and Caribbean Games in Veracruz, Mexico remarking on
the gold medal achieved by the women’s volleyball team.
The Dominican women’s team captured their fourth consecutive
gold medal with an undefeated record and winning the fifteen
sets played during the preliminary round and the playoffs.
“It is with great joy that I ask you to transmit to our athletes
participating in the XXII Central American and Caribbean Games
taking place in Mexico, the enormous pride and satisfaction we
all experience for the big effort shown by them in each one of
their competitions,” Mr. Medina expressed in a letter to Mr.
Luis Mejía, President of the Dominican Republic Olympic
Committee.
He said that is also a motive of celebration for all the
Dominicans the 41 total medals, gold, silver and bronze,
obtained in the Games thus far.
While wishing that “the good fortune keeps accompanying” the
Dominicans the Chief of State expressed the enthusiasm and
optimism the local fans are showing while following the sport
competition. |
