President of Municipality of Okayama visits Dominican camp
OKAYAMA, Japan, September 26, 2018 – The president of the city
of Okayama visited the camp of the Dominican Republic volleyball
national team that played and trained here as part of its
preparation for the upcoming FIVB Women’s Volleyball World
Championship.
Mr. Masao Omori had the opportunity to talk to the players and
staffers and was received by Mr. Cristobal Marte Hoffiz,
president of the Female Program of the Dominican National
Federation.
Mr. Omori was presented with a jersey of the Dominican team by
the captain of the squad Bethania de la Cruz as a gratitude for
all the hospitality and excellent treatment received during the
stay in Okayama.
The president of the city wished the best of luck to the
Dominican team that will play in Pool D with Brazil, Serbia,
Kazakhstan, Puerto Rico and Kenya.
The final preparation of the Dominican team was considered a
success by Mr. Marte Hoffiz who also expressed thanks to all the
community of Okayama.
The Dominicans defeated the local team the Seagulls and played
several sets under certain game conditions against Bulgaria.
Bulgaria and Dominican Republic didn’t face each other in a full
match as the coaches of both teams preferred to play sets under
different situations that come up during the matches.
“Everything concluded well and the team went through a good
preparation before the start of the world championship,” Marte
Hoffiz said. |
