PUNTA CANA, Dominican Republic, July 4, 2021 –
NORCECA President Cristobal Marte Hoffiz
expressed his personal satisfaction following
the closing ceremony of the U23 Men’s and
Women’s Beach Volleyball Qualifier to the Junior
Pan American Games.
“I want to congratulate the six teams per gender
who have booked their tickets to the event in
Cali, Colombia,” said Marte Hoffiz. “We have
been able to complete the event as scheduled
with excellent organization”.
Puerto Rico in the women’s tournament and Cuba
in the men’s competition took home the highest
honors winning all their matches during the
weekend.
The teams qualified were:
Puerto Rico, Cuba, Mexico and Costa Rica in both
genders, the women’s teams of Canada and
Guatemala and the men’s of Nicaragua and
Dominican Republic.
“The report I have received is that beach
volleyball was played at its utmost quality with
fantastic plays from start to finish in both
genders,” added Marte Hoffiz, who attended the
General Technical Meeting last Thursday.
“These are our players of the future and I feel
so happy with the fact we are starting to march
on the road towards normality”, he added.
The event was dedicated to Mr. Ernesto Veloz,
president of the Punta Cana Hotels Association,
who received a plaque of recognition presented
by Amos Anglade, the manager of the competition.
Jose Luis Jimenez Lao was the technical director
and Salvador Bautista, the referee delegate. |
