SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic, December 9, 2021 - The prominent Dominican volleyball player Prisilla Rivera, who last October announced her retirement from the National Team as captain of the squad popularly called "Queens of the Caribbean", was recognized by the Senate of the Republic.

During a ceremony headed by the president of the highest legislative body, engineer Eduardo Estrella, Rivera received a scroll that highlights her virtues as an athlete and her twenty years as a member of the National Women's Team.

During the ceremony the president of the Dominican Senate was accompanied by several member of the chamber including the popular local artist Héctor Acosta.

Estrella highlighted Rivera's dedication vocation for so many years of service to the country in sports events, as well as her condition as a citizen of high merit.
