Puerto Ricans Rivera and Figueroa undefeated in Nanjing
NANJING, China, August 18, 2014 – Puerto Ricans Daniel Rivera
and Sergio Figueroa registered their second win in as many days
in the male segment of the Beach Volleyball Tournament at the
Nanjing Youth Olympic Games.
The Puerto Ricans defeated Philip Amissah and Nicholas Tetteh of
Ghana 2-0 (21-13, 21-16) in 29 minutes.
Louis Richards and Torey DeFalco of United States evened their
record at 1-1 following a 2-0 (21-9, 21-16) over Elias Ndagano
and Sylvestre Ndayisabye of Rwanda in 25 minutes.
Canadians Andre Richards and Jake MacNeil have also a 1-1 mark
after a 2-0 (21-18, 22-20) win over Thailand’s Jonklang and
Banlue in 33 minutes of action.
Brian Shavar and Rojey Hutchinson of Jamaica dropped their
record at 0-2 following their loss to Botouli Ilombola and Itoua
Ossolo of Congo 2-0 (23-21, 21-17) in 34 minutes.
Erik Flores and Mark Alvarez of Guatemala suffered their second
defeat in two outings being outplayed by Paraguay’s Renato
Bogarin and Elioth Frutos 2-0 (21-14, 21-17). |
