Puerto Ricans practiced in the Sports Palace
SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic, January 9, 2020 –The
Women’s Volleyball National Team of Puerto Rico had its
first practice session at the Sports Palace, the official
competition venue, on Wednesday afternoon.
The Puerto Ricans are one of the four teams to compete for
one available ticket to the Olympic Games in the NORCECA
Women’s Qualification Tournament Tokyo 2020. The team worked
out for just over 90 minutes in the reception and service to
get used to the environment of the Sports Palace.
“They looked good in their practice and we will continue
making technical and tactical adjustments before the match
against Canada,” said Coach José Mieles. “We still have
three more practice sessions before the first match to
decide the starting line-up against Canada on Friday.”
Puerto Rico will play against Canada on Friday in the first
match of the four-team tournament followed by the contest
between host Dominican Republic and Mexico.
The Puerto Rican team is composed by the following players:
